Hannah Simpson

MSc, BSc (Hons) Veterinary Physiotherapy

RAMP, MIRVAP (VP)

Originally born and raised in Durban, South Africa, I moved over to the United Kingdom at the age of eighteen to pursue my dream of becoming a veterinary physiotherapist. After school, I completed my training to become a qualified horse riding instructor (SANIP Level 4). Before beginning my studies at Harper Adams University, I worked as a horse riding instructor in London at a well known stable yard and completed an Access Diploma in Science part time.

I began my BSc (Hons) Veterinary Physiotherapy degree in 2018 at Harper Adams and graduated in July 2022. During my third year of my studies, I worked at a well-respected and established dressage and eventing yard in Cheshire and a small animal veterinary practice in London. Both experiences help shaped me into the person I am today. I have also completed my MSc in Applied Equine Science through Hartpury University. I have a passion for animals, ranging from horses to dogs to wildlife. I have a particular soft spot for Jack Russell's as I have one back in South Africa!

When not treating my patients around Gloucestershire, I am based at a small animal veterinary referral hospital which allows me to gain extensive experience working with orthopaedic and neurological rehabilitation. I work closely with the specialist veterinary surgeons in regards to patient care and their rehabilitation thus establishing my role in the multi-modal rehabilitation approach. I have extensive experience working in canine hydrotherapy having been based at a local centre for three years.
